Hera. Goddess. In Greek Mythology she is Zeus’ sister and wife. Personally, we prefer zeus’ sister. She has been through a lot in her short lifetime. Hera will be 2 years old in May 2017. She was Alan’s birthday present for his 24th birthday. The next door neighbors had gotten her at a fairly young age for their young son, after his dog had passed away due to unfortunate events. The new puppy turned out to be just a bit too much, so we took her in at 9 weeks old.
She is the definition of the kind of dog that will change your mind about a breed. She is the sweetest little thing. If there is any violence, even just joke wrestling, you will hear her “yell”. She is full of love and kisses. He bark is worse than her nonexistant bite.
Interestingly enough, Hera is already famous. Stolen out of our backyard at 6 months old, the power of social media brought her back home to us three long months later. After searching, and hoping that she was still alive, we got a message on facebook. It was a screen shot of a dog that had been found, our dog! Our little Hera! She was alive! Not in the worst condition, but needed some attention immediately. When we had lost her she was 55 pounds, now she was 48. But, with lots of love, a full belly, and her brothers’ support, she became our Her-Bear again.
